KATE WHITFIELD'S PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE

Kate's many years of commercial experience assures clients that not only will the design studio naturally deliver stand-out, striking interiors, but that the spaces will also work elegantly and practically.

Prior to setting up An Artful Life, Kate worked as an Associate at renowned London practice Fusion Design & Architecture up until April 2014.  Below are a selection of projects that she completed while at Fusion.

Opposite London's iconic landmark

Director Kate Whitfield designed this sophisticated bar-restaurant space for Drake & Morgan, during her time at Fusion Design & Architecture.  Based on the brief, a series of informal but visually exciting spaces were created.  Architecturally interesting elements of the shell space were retained and exposed (such as the concrete columns and vaulted ceiling) and vintage floor to ceiling finishes and bold graphics/patterns were included in the striking design.

Huge city bar in partially listed buildings

Another project for Drake & Morgan, whilst at Fusion Design & Architecture, Kate took on their largest bar yet.  Previously the City of London Police Commissioner's office, the design and fit-out transformed the (partially listed) spaces into a bar, open kitchen, restaurant, lounge, wine-store/deli and private basement bar.  The venue won 'Best Design' at the MA200 Awards 2010.
